Urban Campsite Amsterdam is an open-air art exhibition where visitors can stay overnight in the installations, transforming the exhibition into a temporary campsite. The third edition was held at the Science Park, where natural science research, exact sciences, ICT, and biology are accommodated. The design for the installation is based on the inventions from one of the most famous scientists before the industrial revolution: Leonardo Da Vinci. A sleeping object with an spam resulting from the stacking of beams in certain sequence and a pattern. The structure is maintained by the downward forces of gravity and counterweight. Characteristic is the simplicity of the construction without hidden connections.
